One of "Ten Rising Talents to Watch for in the Arts"
as featured in the Vancouver Sun (October 21st, 2010)

Welcome to my website...a place to share all that I love.

As a dancer, choreographer and educator I currently share my time between my home in Vancouver, BC and my love of the Andes in Peru; with global adventures around the world. Dance, community and culture is what inspires me the most and these elements are woven throughout each of the projects that I am involved with.

Artist Statement: As a choreographer I am interested in exploring themes connected to land, place, identity and the thread that weaves our lives intricately with the lives and stories of our Ancestors and of future generations.  I am intensly curious about the stories that we carry within our DNA, within our bones, our flesh, our ways of being in the world.  I strive to create work that has meaning and that allows both the artist and the viewer to expand while becoming more than they thought they/we were.  I value ceremony, the practice of being present, of honouring protocol and the shared experience that transcends the perceived limitations of time and space. (2012)

Creativity has the power to transform and inspire us beyond our wildest dreams.  To uplift, to challenge, to question, to expand.  That is what I believe in.  That is what I know to be true.

VISION & VALUES:

  • To engage in meaningful, thought-provoking work that utilizes the power of dance, theatre and storytelling as a powerful means of self-discovery and expression.
  • To view art and creativity as an integral part of the human experience and to share this with others through inspiring and elevating projects around the world.
  • To engage people of all ages in the exploration of movement, dance and personal stories through a sharing of culture and community that transcends time and space.

  • To support Indigenous Peoples from around the world in the living expression of their cultures through dance, music, storytelling, ritual and ceremony.
  • To live each day passionately engaged in what I love doing the most while creating a more beautiful and just world for future generations to come.
